I remembered I was working on a tutorial about making a game engine in C++, which sadly didn’t survive my last server reinstall… so I’m starting again from scratch! It continues to prove to be much more work than I’ve hoped for – even knowing that it’ll take much more time than I estimate in the beginning, it’ll still take a *lot* more time than that. Read all about it in the tutorial section.

Advanced Ruby Tutorials
I’m writing about the stuff I learned from ruby now, in tutorial-style! Check [here] for details.
Starcraft AI Competition
When learning a new programming language, I find it very encouraging to look for some kind of interesting project or competition to make use of your newfound knowledge. This time I’m learning Ruby, and I’m participating in the AIIDE Starcraft AI Competition. Tough challenge, but oh so entertaining and incredibly good for my coding skills.
Ruby turns out to be… challenging to get good at. It’s really easy to cludge something together, but it’s also extremely easy to mess things up in a spectaculair fashion. I’m not sure if I like it yet, we’ll see in a couple of days.
Green Vibrations 2010
Yes, it’s that time of the year again… Green Vibrations is coming! As always, the party is on Ascension day – this year that would be on the 13th of May, and we just started the ticket sale. For more information you can visit our brand new shiny website at http://www.greenvibrations.nl/
See you at the festival! 😉
And… fixed again
Just realized that I forgot to add the webserver to my firewall exception list, sooo while it was running it was actually not reachable from the rest of the world. Ugh. I really dislike all of the maintenance work that goes into stuff like this when the thing you want to accomplish should be trivial.
Anyway, the blog is reachable once again.
